Biltmore Generator
The Biltmore Generator is an asset I created for a game demo as part of my internship for school. The designer requested a large machine with moving parts for our 1920's era warehouse as set dressing. After spending a great amount of time going over reference photos of various machinery from that era I settled on this machine. Large and imposing, I figured this machine would do the trick by both taking up a fair swathe of space and also giving the designer the moving parts he needed as it has a number of large, rotating rotors and wheels. It was later re-purposed as a device that operates a large boat lift as can be seen by the large belt that is attached to the largest wheel.
This project was modeled in Maya and my first attempt at texturing with Physically Based Rendering (PBR) using Allegorithmic's Substance Designer and Substance Painter. |
